Cervical Cancer Awareness Month: The Importance of Regular Cervical Screening For The Significant Prevention of Cancer In Your Body

Health risks, more often than not, come usually for women, and cervical cancer is commonly one of them. It is usually caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), an extremely common virus that is spread through skin-to-skin contact. It is noted that while most HPV infections are cleared by the immune system and cause no symptoms, there would still be some probability that can cause infections to persist and eventually develop cervical cancer, particularly in the women’s cervix. While it is an unfortunately common disease among women, it can also be treated at the same speed length at which you encountered the disease and developed in your body. With that being said, it is highly suggested for women to take their cervical screening on a regular basis to prevent a wide range of complications of the cancer worsening in the body.

Furthermore, at an early diagnosis, after which was managed effectively, it can be said that cervical cancer would be the most successfully treated form of cancer. But keep in mind that when it’s caught too late, the outcome could be way behind prevention. Cancers diagnosed at a late stage can be controlled and prevented with proper treatment and palliative care.

At NMPC, we stand for cervical cancer awareness to promote prevention, and provide proper medication to help improve the lives of Filipinos. We encourage to practice these precautionary measures for the successful and crucial prevention of cervical cancer:

a. Taking vaccination against HPV

b. Screening, early diagnosis and treatment of premalignant lesions

c. Abstaining from smoking

d. Having a safe sexual experience

e. Minimal exposure to HPV as it spreads through skin-to-skin contact

Together, let’s fight for a healthier community and boost longevity of life away from detrimental diseases to promote a more productive but safer lifestyle.
